About the project

2000

The start was a piece of art of our choise, from which we should make a sculpture that should give us the inspiration for designing a building. I choose a Keith Haring piece, so my sculpture wanted to express the big contrast of his work, using nice colourful childish drawings to express important themes. The sculpture had two faces, a nice colourful and a violent one with metal blades.

The resulting building had an inviting facade with an organic shape. The fassade is separated from the rest of the building and going through the entrance you will be overcome from many blocks that disturb the organic shape.

The concept for the other prospects took form from the consideration that the typical historical prospects in Venice (wher this hostel is loceted) follow vertical lines that are narrow or wide with apparently no modular reason, like a bar code.

(Once upon a time the architects draw with paper and ink pens. No computer. In that far time I started my studies and made the first exams in this way.)
