About the project

2018

I created the design and illustration for these postcards to help with the promotion of a crowdfunding campaign for a book. The campaign was successful, also thanks to these postcards, and the book will be published in late 2019.

The illustration of the postcard takes inspiration from the traditional Sicilian symbol of the sun, since both the main character of the book and the author herself are from Sicily. Also, the city of Palermo is one of the settings of the book. The main character of the novel travels across Europe, through Germany, Italy and England. The postcard displays a quote from the book, describing Germany from the point of view of an Italian: “The sun in Germany is like a special guest, you never know if it will show up and, even when it does, it is often several hours late and usually under the influence of drugs”. This explains why the sun looks slightly tipsy!
